Wedding Colours
Okay, so I’ve been trying to
put together some wedding colours, but there has been nothing that screamed out at me.
Choosing colours is a lot harder than I thought it would be. And since our wedding will probably be in the Summer/Fall of 2011, how the heck am I supposed to know what will be “in” during that time?
So, we’re picking wedding colours the same way we picked our house colours. Keep the base simple, so black and white, and add a punch of colour, in this case, we’re undecided. Green (Like the one pictured on the right), Red or Champagne are the other “punch” of colours we’re undecided on. Black and white is always classic. The green makes it modern, red makes it romantic (Dennis says this makes him think of the Carleton Ravens, so this it automatically cut), and champagne makes it classy.
Currently where we are in our lives, I think we’re leaning towards the green, but I think deep down I really like the champagne. But to me, it just doesn’t feel fun. Aggghhh, the decisions, the decisions.
Honestly, this is probably the most important part of the planning. Without the colours or a theme, you’ll have no direction, and the planning process will become a nightmare.
I thought about four colours for a bit, but for some reason Dennis likes doing things in threes, apparently it’s aesthetically pleasing (yea, I agree with him). Having too many colours just doesn’t suit us.
So I guess our decision is made (for now). We’re going with black, white and green.
Yay! Now I can move on and start designing everything else!
