Engagement Ring
Thursday, December 31st, 2009So I’m super excited. We have an appointment this weekend to design my ring. Dennis knew I’d really enjoy the process, and he also wanted to make sure I get exactly what I want, so he proposed with a loaner ring which I’ve grown to actually like. I’m sure if he would have picked it, I would have loved it anyway. All those not so discreet hints I’ve been making for years was probably more than enough help, but he made the right decision. This is going to be sooo much fun!
So here’s what I’ve narrowed it down to following (NOTE: This is what I want.. but Dennis is telling me this may not be what I’m getting, apparently money doesn’t grow on trees)
Shape – Cushion or Radiant, but since I have a round now, it’s starting to grow on me…
Size – Hopefully at least a carat. I keep on telling Dennis that I have larger fingers/hands. Which means it’ll look funny with a smaller ring
Anyway, here is my current inspiration:
This is the Tiffany Novo ring. A cushion cut diamond. However, I don’t want diamonds on this band. Well, not that I don’t want diamonds on the band, Dennis wants to get me a classic solitaire ring, so no other diamonds. We did make a compromise though, and I’m allowed to have them on the wedding band at least
So the must haves are a 4 prong setting, but NOT a North, East, South, West setting. It also must be raised, or tapered. A thin band (not too sure about this one, but I just love the look of it right now). Platinum or White gold band. And it must be designed with the wedding band in mind. I want it to fit like a glove and seamlessly piece together.
That is all for now.
